Common questions
How do congregants use Cross?
They tap their phone on an NFC tag in the pew, or scan the QR code on a card. Your church's Cross page opens in the browser: a Heart Check-in, Be Still breathing, the Faith Companion, and Moments of Grace. There is nothing to download.
Do congregants need an account?
They sign in once with a free account: they type their email and enter the 6-digit code we send. No password. Urgent help and the crisis hotlines are always visible without signing in.
I didn't get my sign-in code. What should I do?
Wait a minute, then check your spam or promotions folder for an email from Cross. Make sure the address is spelled correctly and tap “Use a different email” to try again. Still nothing? Send us a message below.
How do I set up NFC tags?
In your dashboard, open NFC & QR codes and add a tag for each place (“Back rows, left side”). On an Android phone in Chrome, tap “Write this link to an NFC tag” and hold a blank sticker to the phone. On an iPhone, use the free NFC Tools app and paste the tag's link. You can also download a spreadsheet of links and order pre-programmed tags.
Which NFC stickers should we buy?
NTAG213 stickers are enough (Cross links are about 60 characters). Round stickers 25 to 30 mm across are easy to find and tap. Choose “on-metal” tags for metal surfaces. Start with 5 to 10 in the back rows, the lobby and the prayer room.
What does Cross cost?
Every feature that doesn't use AI is free for your church and congregants, and each congregant gets 3 free AI Faith Companion conversations. Church plans cover the AI companion for everyone: Starter is $1 a month (60 AI replies), Pro is $5 a month (600 AI replies, optional $5 top-ups). Congregants can also get Cross Plus for themselves at $1 a month.
Can our church see what people write?
No. Your Overview shows totals only, like how many check-ins or breathing sessions happened, never who checked in or what anyone wrote. With Prayer Closet on (the default), conversations aren't saved at all.
Is Cross counselling or crisis care?
No. Cross offers encouragement and prayerful reflection; it doesn't replace a pastor, counsellor or doctor. If someone's words suggest they may be in danger, Cross stops and shows crisis hotlines and emergency numbers.
Which languages does Cross speak?
English, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. Cross follows each person's phone language, anyone can switch at the top of the page, and you can set your church's default language under Branding & language.
How do I change or cancel our plan?
Open Plan & billing in your dashboard. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the month you've paid for, then your church moves to the free plan. Nothing else changes: tags, QR codes and all non-AI features keep working.
How do I delete our account or my data?
Send us a message below from the email address on the account and we'll delete it and confirm by email.
